Real-time Interaction over the Internet: Model for Qos Adaptation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Real-time Interaction over the Internet (RTI) is an Internet service that is required typically by remote experimentation applications. From a quality of service (QoS) point of view, RTI has constraints that differ from usual real-time multimedia services such as video streaming or video conferencing. The RTI QoS can be expressed by three values that represent the level of interaction, the dynamics rendering and the semantic content. The RTI metrics, derived from these values, are essential to successfully implement an end-to-end (E2E) control scheme that adapts the transmission parameters to the equivalent E2E infrastructure that encompass not only to the network state, but also to the server and client applications processing capabilities. A model of the end-to-end system is exploited to ensure a minimal transmission time for a given E2E system. Copyright © 2005 IFAC

Advanced operations research techniques for multi-constraint QoS routing in internet
Internet Traffic has grown exponentially over last few years due to provision of multiple class services through Internet backbone. With the explosive use of Internet, contemporary Internet routers are susceptible to overloads and their services deteriorate drastically and often cause denial of services. In this paper, an analysis is made how forecasting technique, routing algorithm and Genetic...
متن کاملAdaptive quality of service for streamed MPEG-4 over the Internet
Currently multimedia is either downloaded before viewing, or streamed over a network. However, streaming real-time or near real-time applications with a specified Quality of Service (QoS) over the Internet is not yet a solved problem. The Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) can be used to facilitate streaming, but also has the potential to support QoS. By gathering network statistics during the ...
متن کاملAn Adaptation Scheme for Real-time Interaction over the Internet
Real-time Interaction over the Internet (RTI2) is an Internet service that is required typically by remote experimentation applications. From a quality of service (QoS) point of view, RTI2 has constraints that differ from usual real-time multimedia services such as video streaming or video conferencing. The RTI2 QoS can be expressed by three values that represent the level of interaction, the d...
متن کاملQoS Support for Real-Time Flows in Internet Routers
This paper addresses how to offer a specific QoS for soft-real time distributed applications over the Internet. The approach here proposed is entrusting the routers with the task of providing diversified scheduling for real-time and non-real-time flows, keeping the two types of traffic into separate queues and applying a deadline-based scheduling to real-time flows and a FIFO policy to non-real...
متن کاملEvolutionary Computing Assisted Wireless Sensor Network Mining for QoS-Centric and Energy-efficient Routing Protocol
The exponential rise in wireless communication demands and allied applications have revitalized academia-industries to develop more efficient routing protocols. Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) being battery operated network, it often undergoes node death-causing pre-ma...
